Privacy Policy

Effective date: November 1, 2026

This policy describes what information is handled when you read blackloud.com, how the operator uses it and what choices you have. The operator is whoever runs Blackloud, and the words we and us refer to the operator.

Visit logs

The servers that deliver Blackloud pages keep routine logs. An entry can include your IP address, the time of the request, the page asked for, your browser and device type, and the page that sent you here. We use these records to keep the site online, to investigate errors and abusive traffic, and to see in general terms whether reviews of gadgets, smart home guides or audio articles are being read.

Cookies and similar technology

Blackloud may use cookies and comparable browser storage. Some keep pages working. Others, where enabled, count visits, remember a display choice, support advertising, or record that a visitor arrived at a retailer through a link on the site so that an affiliate referral can be attributed. A cookie set by an analytics tool, an ad network or an embedded product video is controlled by that provider, not by Blackloud.

Controls in your browser

You can block or clear cookies in your browser, browse privately, or use extensions that restrict trackers. Where your browser transmits a global privacy or do-not-track signal and our analytics or ad tools can read it, we handle it as a request to opt out. Blocking storage may change how embedded content or product links behave.

What you send to us

When you write to [email protected], we receive your email address and whatever you include, such as a device model or a description of a problem. That material is used to reply, to check a claimed error against our sources and to remember what was already discussed. Your message is never sold, and a quote from it would appear on the site only after you agreed.

Newsletters and forms

If Blackloud offers a newsletter or a form, the details you enter are used for that purpose, such as delivering the updates you requested. Each mailing explains how to unsubscribe, and you may also ask for removal by email.

Outside services

Publishing a tech blog depends on outside providers. These may include hosting and content delivery, analytics, advertising and affiliate networks, and embedded items such as product videos or audio players. Such a provider may see technical details of your visit, such as your address and device type, and what it does with them is set by its own privacy rules rather than ours.

Retention

Raw visit logs are held only for a short working window before they are wiped or boiled down to counts that identify nobody. Emails are kept while they remain useful for replying, fixing an article or meeting a legal duty, and are removed once that need has passed.

Access, correction and deletion requests

Depending on where you live, you may be entitled to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to object to some uses, or to withdraw consent given earlier. Email [email protected] with your request. Because we may need to be sure the request comes from the person concerned, a short follow-up question is possible, and we then answer inside the time limit that applies to you.

Children

Blackloud is written for a general audience and is not aimed at children under 13. Collecting data from young children is not something the site sets out to do. A parent who finds that a child has emailed us a name or address can write to us and we will erase it.

Security

We use secure connections and restrict access to the inbox and site tools as reasonable safeguards. Since nothing sent over the internet is immune from interception or breach, we cannot offer an absolute guarantee.

Data crossing borders

Some of the providers behind Blackloud may process information in other countries, where data protection rules can differ from those near you. By reading the site from your own device, you accept that those providers may handle your visit data abroad.

Updates to this policy

This policy will be edited whenever our analytics, advertising or affiliate arrangements change, or when the law requires it. The effective date above marks the current version, and continuing to read Blackloud after a change means the revised policy applies to you.

Withdrawing consent and complaints

Consent you have given can be withdrawn whenever you like, without affecting earlier use. Our cookie policy page sets out which cookies are used and how to change your mind about them. You also have the right to complain to a regulator: your local data protection authority in the EU, EEA or UK (the ICO in the UK), or the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner in Australia.
